Opportunities with Atropos
We are hiring! Social Media & Marketing Manager (Voluntary Role)
Atropos is an independent literary and artistic magazine dedicated to poetry and visual arts. We publish emerging and established voices and aim to create a space where contemporary writing and art can meet, circulate, and be discovered.
As the magazine continues to grow, we are looking for someone to help expand our online presence and strengthen our creative community.
We are currently seeking a volunteer Social Media & Marketing Manager to support Atropos’ digital communication. This role involves managing and developing our presence on Instagram and potentially other platforms, creating and scheduling content, and helping promote our publication dates, calls for submissions, and new issues. A key part of the role is encouraging poets and artists to submit their work and helping Atropos reach a wider audience in an authentic and thoughtful way.
This position is designed to be light and flexible, requiring no more than a few hours per week. It is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in cultural marketing, social media management, or independent publishing, while becoming part of an engaged art and poetry community. You will have creative freedom, space to propose ideas, and the opportunity to actively shape Atropos’ public image and growth.
Required skills and qualities:
- Confidence managing Instagram and/or other social media platforms
- Strong interest in poetry, literature, visual arts, or independent publishing
- Creative mindset with a good eye for visual identity and tone
- Ability to work independently and manage a small weekly workload
- Strong written communication skills in English
- Previous experience in social media or cultural marketing
This is a voluntary role, offered in the spirit of learning, collaboration, and creative exchange. In return, you will gain hands-on experience, portfolio material, insight into the workings of an independent magazine, and the chance to join and contribute to a growing literary and artistic project.
